On the heels of Anthony Scaramucci’s departure as Trump’s White House Communications Director only ten days after taking the job, George W. Bush’s ethics lawyer, Richard Painter, shared his take on the bombshell news.

Per a White House official, Scaramucci was removed from his post because he was not “disciplined and had burned his credibility.” The outspoken New Yorker had almost instantly gotten himself into hot water by initiating a public feud with former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus on Twitter.

This is only the latest in a slew of high profile departures from the White House. Most notably, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer left their posts in what has become an increasingly chaotic and unstable administration. Scaramucci’s own departure marks the third Communications Director to leave, after Mike Dubke resigned after three months on the job and Sean Spicer, who assumed the role while serving as Press Secretary, resigned two weeks ago.

Painter has been a vocal critic of this administration since Trump took office and – given the frequency and speed of so many high profile departures – it seems that his judgment is still spot on.
