The bloom is off the rose as far as Caitlyn Jenner’s estimation of Donald Trump is concerned.

Jenner, the transgender Olympic decathlon gold medal winner and reality show star, was famously an avid Trump supporter, often seen wearing the signature red “Make America Great Again” baseball cap while tooling around Malibu in her 1960 Austin-Healy convertible.

Trump’s tweet last week calling for a ban on transgender citizens serving in the armed forces has changed all that, however. Jenner told TMZ that she now “detests Trump” and that “what he’s doing to our community is absolutely f***ing awful.”

Immediately after Trump tweeted his new transgender military policy Jenner replied on Twitter with a tweet of her own:

In a subsequent tweet, Jenner linked to a full statement on the issue on her website,  including these choice words:

“I believe every American should be outraged by the disrespect shown to those people wearing our country’s uniform. Furthermore, this half-baked idea puts all of our service members in harm’s way….Over the past two years I have met the most inspiring trans people, and I can testify to the trans community’s incredible resilience and perseverance in the face of enormous discrimination and hate. We are strong, we are beautiful, and we will win. The President must ask himself which side of history he will be on — and reverse his position immediately.”

As far as the MAGA hat goes, don’t expect to see Jenner wearing it again anytime soon. She told TMZ that she’s thinking of signing it and auctioning it off to donate the proceeds to transgender causes. Otherwise, she’s just going to rip it up or burn it.

“I apologize to all of the trans community. I made a mistake. I will never do it again and I’m getting rid of the hat.”

Glad to see Caitlyn Jenner come to her senses and see Trump for the hateful bigot that he has been since the beginning of his candidacy. You go, girl!
