This week the president of the United States of America started a feud with the hosts of a morning talk show. He unleashed a barrage of sexist, petty lies, attacking Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski.
Mika and her cohost Joe Scarborough responded to the president this morningin a scathing Washington Post op-ed entitled “Donald Trump is not well.” In it, they wrote:
“This year, top White House staff members warned that the National Enquirer was planning to publish a negative article about us unless we begged the president to have the story spiked. We ignored their desperate pleas.”
Now, New York Magazine reports that the top White House staff member who delivered the threat was none other than Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor.
The Enquirer is a bargain-bin trash tabloid that regularly runs completely fabricated headlines. It could not be a more disreputable publication. Trump has a close relationship with the magazine’s CEO and has enjoyed favorable coverage because of it.
According to New York Magazine, Kushner texted Scarborough, warning him that Enquirer was going to publish a hit piece on his relationship with Mika. Kushner said that the negative coverage could be avoided if Scarborough apologized directly to Trump for attacking him on his show. If true, this is nothing short of blackmail. It’s the kind of behavior one would expect from a low-rent mobster.
Kushner’s willingness to play the role of errand boy speaks volumes about his lack of character. It appears there is nothing he won’t do to keep his daddy-in-law happy. This revelation also brings a new wrinkle to past allegations that Kushner colluded with Russia on behalf of the Trump campaign./washingtonjournal.com/BY
