A top Republican fundraiser just quit his position within New York’s Republican partyover the “disgrace” that is the GOP’s tax reform bill.
Steve Louro quit his position as the regional finance director for New York’s Republican Party on Tuesday. Louro hosted a fundraiser for then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016 and has been a vocal supporter of many Republican candidates.
“The bill that’s going to get passed is not going to take care of the American people,” Louro told The Times.
“It’s a disgrace. It’s going to hurt a lot of middle-class Republicans,” he added.
Republicans from New York and New Jersey have strongly denounced the tax plan, saying that middle-class constituents are ultimately going to lose out due to the elimination of the state and local tax deduction.
The bottom line is I told Lee I’m done,” Louro said. “I’m totally done.”/reverepress.com
